Bring On The Real Life

I am completely in love with this lifestyle session and I wanted you guys to see! Unless you're in the industry, most people don't know what a "lifestyle" session actually looks like.

I've been documenting this family since their maternity session in the studio. We decided to do something a little different to celebrate our big 4 month milestone, so I traveled to their adorable home to capture some family time between the three of them.

I know everyone is thinking there's no way their home would photograph well enough, or there's no way they could get it clean enough! I have the exact same thoughts about my own home!! The toys are EVERYWHERE! But there's no need to fret over the little stuff. I am there to document your LIFE. Your CONNECTION. Your LOVE. I'm not there to judge your mess 😜 I've got plenty of mess of my own!

So make the bed, throw the dishes in the dishwasher, and pull open those curtains. I'll scoot everything else out of the way when I get there!

We spend so much time just *being* with our families in our homes. Documenting this is a great way to hold onto those memories.

This nursery is absolutely stunning. We spend *so* much time making sure our babes have the most perfect nursery. We need to document it before they're big and throw their clothes all over the floor! I promise, this happens sooner than you think!

back to basics

I'm a total blog slacker. I know it. I will admit it. I'm going to own it. And now, I'm going to change it.


We have lots to catch up on! I have changed studios and am now situated on the beautiful Frankfort Avenue in Louisville *bonus that it's right next to Joella's Hot Chicken*, I've photographed so many adorable kiddos and families, and I had another baby of my own! Many of your families have grown in numbers and I am so excited to meet more of you!


Bear with me while I get this site up to date. It's definitely wearing it's three year old face right now. I'm going to get her all shined up and ready to go again with some fantastic content. Watch for a studio tour, some behind-the-scene sessions, and lots of beautiful babies.


In the meantime, check out a sweet pea from last week. He came to me for his two month portraits and completely rocked my morning with all of his squishy goodness.

This little guy came back to see me for his milestone session! A huge perk of my job is watching these babies grow up. They end up being a part of my family! He's such a serious little guy, but I managed to get him to crack a couple smiles over the 10 minutes we had! His full gallery was 32 images and 7 setups!!!

trial run mini

This momma sent me a message to book her mini session and told me this was a trial run for their family session this summer. Let me just say, I am not sure I have ever had such photogenic kids in front of my camera. EVER! They warmed up immediately and their giggles and personalities were so much fun!! I am *so* looking forward to their family session!

long time no see mini

Years and years ago I went to school with their daddy. Their momma messaged me and said they hadn't had portraits done since the girls were little, so I knew we had to put an end to the procrastination (It's okay! I'm a procrastinator, too!). Although I've watched these girls grow up on Facebook, I had never met them in person (kind of weird, right?!). I was so excited to hang out with them, even if it was only for a short 10 minutes. Their personalities definitely broke through immediately!

mini cuties

The next few posts will feature my 10 Minute Mini families! This was one of my more wild ideas, but it worked SO much better than I ever could have imagined. When it was all said and done, all of my families had hefty galleries of digital images to download. SUCCESS!
