One of My Own

This lovely lady was not simply a newborn session. She was also a baby I had to wait VERY patiently for. If you know me at all, you know I am not the patient type. This baby, Annie Jean, is one of my very own nieces. That's right...ONE of my nieces (I have several...as well as a couple of nephews, but definitely LOTS of nieces). I have waited, and waited, and waited some more for ALL of these little girls (and BOYS). And now here is the newest. MY Annie Jean. EEEKKK!! LOVE HER! And while most of the time she was very sweet, cooperative, and quiet, she DEFINITELY let me know when she was finished with her debut!

Hey...Is that baby wearing a leg warmer? Why, yes. As a matter of fact, she is.

Part of the Family

Just a little over a year ago, I had the opportunity to photograph this awesome family. A couple things were very special about this session. First of all (and most importantly) this family is one that I consider my own. I grew up with this gorgeous momma and I will ALWAYS consider her a major influence in my life. Her, her husband, and this little lady are seriously aMaziNG people.

The second extra special detail of their session last year was that it was my very 1st paid session EvEr. It marked the beginning of a new world for me. It was a slight glimpse into my future, although looking back on it, I had NO clue what I was in store for. I had no idea I would soon be falling in love. Falling in love with life again, with work, with my previous passions. I went head over heals in many aspects. And HERE I AM. Right here. FOURTEEN months later. LOTS of sessions later. RIGHT. HERE.

Thank you so much Andrea and Jeff. Cheers to you and yours. xo

A Family Full of Ladies!

Those of you who know me personally know that I grew up with a house full of girls (and those of you who don't know me personally, you'll learn!!).  By being surrounded by the craziness of women day in and day out, I came to wish for nothing but male children. I mean, seriously. It was just so loud, so chaotic, and so evil at times. We were in constant battles over something, anything, at all moments.

Now the tide has turned. I grew up. They grew up. I had two baby girls (HA!). One of my sister's has a daughter and my brother (yes, he exists too, just much more quietly than the rest of us) has 2 girls. Oh, and the other sister? 3 female cats (does this count? why not?) Girls. Wow. Lots, and lots of girls. And even though I had imaged it differently in the beginning, I would not change a single thing about it. All of the fights, all of the shouting, all of the torture. It made me the woman I am today. Strong. Brave. All of these girls surround me for a reason, and I saw the same thing when I opened my car door and stepped out into this session. 3 strong, brave, amazing little girls. They fight, they shout, they love. Just as I did with my sisters (and brother :) ).

It's True

After MUCH consideration, I am back. Blogging. I'm a Blogger. Again. I Blog. Shew. Now that that's off of my mind, here we go with the real content of this post. The FIRST post. Shouldn't this be like, CRAZY impressive? Now I'm nervous....

Let's just do it this way: Here's what I've been doing recently...

Ahhhh...Now I feel better. Let's make it last :)
